Keerthy Suresh’s ‘Mahanati’ completed a year in cinema and even today it is one of the finest films ever made not to forget the impeccable acting Keerthy did don the role of superstar Savithri. She was unstoppable as an actress ever since but her roles were not quite as charming as ‘Mahanati’. The actress has now won a National Award as the best actress for her excellent performance in the biopic.
In a recent interview, Keerthy had a lot to say about winning the National Awards. “To receive the award from the Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu, gave me goosebumps. I cannot describe that feeling in words. When I walked up to receive my National Award, I became very emotional, especially after seeing the reaction of my parents and sister. Seeing them so proud made me extremely happy,” stated Keerthy Suresh to the Hyderabad Times.
She further added, “Well, I’ve been feeling the pressure since the time I took up Mahanati, now it’s gotten too much (laughs). I’ve become very choosy about the films I take up. There are obviously a lot of offers coming my way, but I’m now more responsible for picking the right project so that I can deliver my best. I think it’s time to experiment and explore something new now.”
On the professional front, Keerthy has a huge list of big films namely Maidaan alongside Ajay Devgn, Penguin produced by Karthik Subbaraj, Miss India and Marrakkar starring Mohanlal apart from her huge film Thalaivar 168 starring Rajinikanth, Meena, Khushbu directed by Siruthai Siva. She was so short on dates that she had to drop out of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan to join superstar’s film.
