Sarathkumar Apologises To Daughter Varalaxmi; Here’s Why!

Varalaxmi stands her ground till today!

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is on top of her game now. From donning roles of an antagonist in films like Sarkar and Sandakozhi 2 to choosing some wise roles for the future, Varu sure does know how to own a film no matter what genre it is! However, a revelation made by Varalaxmi’s father, actor-turned-politician Sarathkumar has been doing the rounds on social media and here’s what he had to say.

In a recent interview, the Sooryavamsam actor said, “As an actor-dad, I have not done anything for the growth of her career. When she faced problems with Poda Podi I should have intervened and helped her. But, I didn’t. I sincerely apologize to Varu for that. Had I guided her on which films to take up, she would have become a big star by now. However, with her own grit and willpower, she has shone in various roles and established herself. I am in awe of her.”

Also, talking about sharing screen space with his daughter in the near future, Sarathkumar said, “RendavadhuAattam and PirandhalParasakthi of Radaan Production, where Radikaa, Varalaxmi and I share screen space. When director Om Vijay narrated the story to Varu, it was she who suggested that Appa and Aunty would be apt for the roles.”

On the professional front, Sarathkumar is doing a film titled Vaanam Kottatum starring Radikaa Sarathkumar, Aishwarya Rajesh and Vikram Prabhu and produced by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies. He also has Na Na with Sasikumar, RendavadhuAattam, and PirandhalParasakthi of Radaan Production. Apart from these, rumour has it that the actor is very much a part of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. On asking about the film, the actor added, “There’s a non-disclosure agreement. I can’t say anything about it.”
