We interviewed Pallavi Singh who styled Samantha Ruth Prabhu for her latest movie Janatha Garage. Pallavi tells us more about Samantha’s look in the film that is mostly simple yet casual and stylish!
What’s the idea behind her look in the film?
The look was created to suit Samantha’s character in the film. Everything from the clothing, shoes, makeup and hair compliments the role she plays.
What’s her look in the film?
I didn’t want a very dressed up look for her. Casual yet stylish was the brief given to me. Depending on the scene, it was mostly a western look. We had a strict no-leather approach as Samantha’s character is an environment friendly.
Is Samantha open to experimenting with her looks?
Samantha has a natural flare for fashion and has a good taste in clothing. We discussed each outfit and then finalised it. In-fact, it was Samantha’s idea to sport short hair in the film and I got a chance to put the idea together.

How do you like her look in the film?
I personally love each of her looks. If I don’t like the clothes, I would not pick it up. That’s something I keep in mind while shopping! I draw inspiration from various artists, I look up social media, mostly Facebook and Instagram and if I like the detailing and look in general, I work around it! So the look is drawn from all things trendy.
How is Samantha to work with?
Samantha is a sweetheart, it’s nice to work with people who know what they want, because it makes your life easy.
