Samantha Ruth Prabhu is a name making so many headlines at the moment. It is indeed a bittersweet phase as her work is being sidelined to give headline space to her personal life. With her recent revelation of her divorce to Naga Chaitanya and her public post calling out all rumors and going strong, Samantha has stepped up her game by filing a defamation suit yesterday against two YouTube channels (Suman TV and Telugu Popular TV) and gastroenterologist Dr. CL Venkat Rao.

Though the latter is an unknown name, his recent 13-minute rant video on her divorce and his pro-Akkineni statements with casting aspersions on the Jaanu actor’s character has got him much attention.

In the video which has now become controversial, Rao claims to know ANR personally and how the Love Story actor’s character is admirable. “There is a view that Samantha’s decision is hasty. Everyone believes that she has done wrong,” Rao says in the video after comparing Naga Chaitanya with Lord Rama. “Chaitanya is soft-natured and quite polite,” he adds.

We could see how such exaggerated and one-sided comparisons could have gotten him the defamation. By filing the suit, Samantha has taken the fight directly to the doorsteps of a nobody who proclaims himself to be somebody to Chaitanya’s grandfather. The additional district court at Kukatpally will hear the petition today and we need to wait for further developments in this move.

On the professional front, Samantha awaits the release of her “Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadha” opposite Vijay Sethupati and Nayanthara and is also said to have signed two more OTT releases, making her career grow stronger than ever.
