Read On For More Details!

A news that shattered movie-buffs in recent times is without doubt the announcement of Chay and Sam’s separation. Although the news was expected from a very long time, fans had some hope left that those would be just speculations and not the reality. However, Sam and Chay made it official on their Instagram on Oct 2nd, by clearly stating that they’re going to part ways.

The speculations about their separation started earlier this year, in the month of July when Sam dropped her surnames on Instagram and Twitter and changed it to an ‘S’. After her wedding to Naga Chaitanya in 2017, she took the Akkineni surname. When she dropped her surname rumours sparked that maybe Chay and Sam are facing tensions and that’s why she changed her name on social media.

Now, a day after their announcement, Sam has once again changed her username to ‘Samantha’. However, the actress has still not gone back to her maiden name ‘Samantha Ruth Prabhu’.

Samantha and Chaitanya met on the set of Gautham Menon’s Ye Maaya Chesave in 2010 and dated for a while. The couple tied the knot in Goa on October 6, 2017, followed by a Christian wedding on October 7, 2017, respectively.

Sam and Chay acted together for the very first time in Ye Maaya Chesave, the remake of Gautam Vasudev Menon’s VinnaiThaandi Varuvaaya. After this, they acted in a number of movies including, Autonagar Surya, Manam, Majili and Oh Baby. They’re one of the most favourite couples of South cinema and their news of separation has really broken the hearts of fans.

Samantha is currently working on Shakunthalam and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal. She was last seen on the 2nd season of The Family Man web-series, which sparked a lot of controversies.
