Details Inside!

Samantha took to her Instagram to post a video of herself and the cast of Shaakuntalam seeking blessings at Sri Peddamma Thalli temple with co-star Dev Mohan, producer Neelima Guna and director Gunasekhar.

Directed by Gunashekar, the film is set to release on April 14. Earlier today, Samantha took to twitter and shared about her dream come true moment while replying to co-star Dev Mohan. “The little girl in me is screaming with joy.. loved Disney films all my life and finally to be a part of something that looks and feels so Disney.. dream come true!!,” she wrote on Twitter.

Based on a popular play Abhignyana Shakuntalam by Kalidasa, Samantha will be seen playing the role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the King of the Puru dynasty. Allu Arjun’s daughter Arha is making her acting debut with this Samantha starrer.  On Tuesday, Samantha watched the Shaakuntalam movie with director Gunasekhar and Producer Dil Raju and shared her reaction. The actress shared that she loved the movie and can’t wait for family audiences to watch this epic film. After a long postponement, Shaakuntalam is gearing up for a grand release worldwide next month. Shaakuntalam was initially scheduled to release in February but got postponed. The film is now set to release on April 14, in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. The film will also be available in 3D, promising a visual treat to movie buffs.

On the work front the actress is currently shooting for an Indian adaptation of Citadel, directed by Raj & DK. She is challenging herself completely for the role in this movie by performing intense action sequences.  She is also part of the Telugu romantic film Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda. The shoot is expected to resume soon as the actress might join the sets next week. The shoot got halted after the first schedule in December due to Samantha’s health condition. Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the film is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. An official release date of the film is yet to be announced.
