After many rumors hinting that things weren’t smooth between the actor couple, Sam took it to her social media on Saturday afternoon to announce the couple’s parting with a note in which she requested her fans to support the couple during the difficult time and respect their privacy.
“To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought, Sam and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well-wishers, and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thank you for your support,” the social media post reads.

Samantha and Chay’s divorce rumors started when Sam dropped her surname ‘Akkineni’ from all her social media handles. Sam and Chay fell in love on the sets of the film ‘Ye Maya Chesave’ and had a destination wedding in 2017 in Goa. However, their story has reached an end. The Akkineni family is said to have worked out alimony worth Rs 200 crore for her to announce their separation. However, sources close to the actress have said that Samantha has said she is a self-made individual and does not require any alimony. Although the couple never commented on the separation rumors previously, the events that followed were enough to feed speculations. Sam was not even a part of the success bash of Chay’s recently released film, Love Story. It is rumored that Chay has been residing alone in a posh hotel in Hyderabad since a month after he and Sam decided on parting ways.
It is speculated that Sam is likely to move her base to Mumbai and build her new home. However, in her latest AMA session on Instagram, the actor clarified, “I don’t know where this rumor started but just like a hundred other rumors, not true. Hyderabad is my home, will always be my home. Hyderabad is giving me everything and I will continue to live here very happily.”
On the professional front, the actress is awaiting the release of her two biggies including Shaakuntalam (Telugu) and Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal (Tamil).
