The Amazon Prime hit, whose 1st season saw it become one of the most streamed Indian shows on the platform, will mark Samantha Akkineni’s debut into the world of web series, joining a list of very popular film stars who have forayed into this world recently. Samantha shared her great experience on the sets of the project with her fans on Instagram.
Posting a picture of her with a backdrop of a beach, Samantha wrote in the caption “Every day on the sets of season 2 of The Family Man has been unforgettable.. To be given the opportunity and the trust to play a role so completely different from anything I have ever done before …”
She further expanded on how she prepared for her role in the series.
“It feels like just yesterday when I locked myself in a dark room and promised to discover ‘her’ world as genuinely as I could .. And today on the last day of the shoot I can proudly say.. I definitely didn’t eff it up ..”
The creators of the series, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, of Go Goa Gone and Happy Ending fame, commented on her photo, saying “You effing slayed it! It was sheer pleasure seeing you transform into ‘her’.”
She has a very good relationship with the duo, earlier describing her experience with them as “I have loved Raj & DK’s work and given the global reach and standing of Amazon Prime Video, I couldn’t have asked for better partners.”
Manoj Bajpayee, the lead in the series also congratulated her on her success, as he said, “You are fantastic and so amazing to know you and work with you!!”, to which the actress replied “you are friekin amazing sir .. most scared I’ve ever been of a costar.. God of Acting”
Not much is known about her role in the series, apart from what she shared earlier, saying “The role I play for the show is diametrically different from anything I have done before. It will certainly surprise and delight my fans.”
The Family Man marks yet another milestone for Samantha, as she continues her recent purple patch. There is no doubt fans will be eager to see how she does in her small screen debut!
