Following the biggest hit of The Family Man Season 1 series, the makers have come up with the next season. Samantha Akkineni, is set to make her digital debut with the Raj and DK directed espionage drama, starring Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role. She plays the main antagonist Raji in The Family Man Season 2 and has already grabbed attention with her scenes in the web show’s trailer.

After the initial release of the trailer of The Family Man 2, there was a lot of appreciation to Samantha for her very first role in a TV Series. Later a lot of accusations were put forth by the Tamil people against her role, as it portrayed the LTTE in a bad light.

However, on the other hand the actress feels signing The Family Man Season 2 was an accomplishment for her. She added “I saw the reviews on the first day, and I had high expectations. I think doubts were cleared moments after its release. Everyone was hooked. I was feeling mighty proud. It was my biggest accomplishment.”

The show also features actors from Tamil cinema, including Mime Gopi, Ravindra Vijay, Devadarshini Chetan, Anandsami and N Alagamperumal.

Speaking on the controversies, the team have given an official clarification from their side. The makers urged everyone to wait for the entire series and not judge by just the trailer. They also promised a “sensitive, balanced and riveting story”.

The Family Man 2 is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on June 4^th 2021.
