Written and directed by Gautham Menon, Ye Maya Chesave is a Telugu romantic drama movie which was released in 2010 starring Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya in the lead roles. This was Samantha’s debut in the film industry and she stunned the audience with her performance.

The two first met on the sets of Ye Maya Chesave, which would stand to be a special film for both as it was during that time their love for each other bloomed. The two later also co-starred with each other in films Manam and Thrayam.

Director Rahul Ravindran asked Naga Chaitanya during one of the film’s promotion when he had proposed to Samantha. “Almost 10 years ago, we met at the shoot of Ye Maya Chesave. And for the last seven years, I have been trying my best to impress Samantha. I had no other option but to marry her”, replied Chaitanya.

Samantha and Chaitanya tied the knot in Goa in 2017 after more than four years of dating. Many close friends from the industry attended the wedding. They had two weddings: a Hindu wedding on a Friday night and a Christian wedding the following evening.

For the Hindu wedding, Samantha was clad in Chaitanya’s grandmother’s sari along with gold ornaments, including waistband and armbands while Chaitanya opted for a white kurta-dhoti.

As for the Christian wedding, Samantha wore a light purple gown and also accentuated her look with a diamond necklace and earrings to match it. Naga Chaitanya complemented his bride in a black tuxedo.
