New stills of actress Samantha Akkineni in character for the Tamil and Telugu remake of the Kannada film U-Turn has been doing the rounds, with Samantha looking every part a journalist. Dressed in casual wears, she is seen in jeans and a loose shirt as well as a simple kurta and palazzos.

Visibly appearing de-glammed, Samantha will play the role of an investigative journalist who reports on the series of deaths of motorists at a particular flyover. Directed by Pawan Kalyan, the film was initially made in Kannada starring Shraddha Srinath in 2016. The film went on to be widely appreciated, prompting the film to be remade in the other two South Indian languages.

Recently, when the stills did the round, Twitter users asked her who the hero is, to which she said, “The script!”

On the work front, Samantha has a slew of projects in the pipeline including Seema Raja with Sivakarthikeyan and Super Deluxe with Vijay Sethupathi. This year alone, she’s had three releases that went on to do well – Rangasthalam, Mahanati (Nadigaiyar Thilagam in Tamil), and Irumbu Thirai.
