Amala has also expressed her fondness for Samantha. In fact, before Sam married Chay, Amala in an interview said that the Akkineni family members feel happy and fortunate to get a lovely and beautiful girl like Samantha as their daughter-in-law.

On the professional front, Samantha has Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara, an untitled next with actor Prasanna directed by Game Over fame Ashwin Saravanan. She is also in talks with her OH Baby director Nandini Reddy for a film with her husband Naga Chaitanya.
