Sai Pallavi To Play A Naxalite Next?

Whoa!

News is rife that Premam girl Sai Pallavi might play a Naxalite in her next Telugu film. While the same hasn’t been confirmed by anybody official, reports suggest that the film will be directed by Venu Udugula of Needhi Naadhi Oke Katha fame.

Tentatively titled Virata Parvam 1992, the film will star Rana Daggubati in the lead. Reports state that Sai Pallavi plays a Naxalite who falls in love with a police constable. Official confirmation from the actors and the team are yet to be made.

Sai Pallavi, meanwhile, has enthralled everybody with ‘Rowdy Baby’ from her upcoming film Maari 2, where she stars alongside Dhanush for the first time. Calling Dhanush ‘Rowdy Baby’ and whistling at him whenever she sees him, it appears to be a fun role for Sai Pallavi.

Sai Pallavi’s look in ‘Maari 2’ has her dressed in a kurta and a khaki shirt on top with her hair pinned and donning those typical ‘Maari’ glasses. While we aren’t sure if she’s inspired by Rajinikanth’s auto driver character in Baasha, one can surely say this would be a rather different take on it.

Sai Pallavi is collaborating with Dhanush for the first time in Maari 2, a sequel to director Balaji Mohan’s 2015 film. The film also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Tovino Thomas as the antagonist, and Krishna Kulasekaran. The film’s music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The first film had Kajal Aggarwal play the female lead. Kajal Aggarwal’s role was relevant to the plot only because she was pretending to love Maari, while helping the police officer on the side. In the end, Maari walked away single as the only Don who’s meant to be. In this one, there is a doubt if Sai Pallavi’s character would be along similar lines.

Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi was last seen in AL Vijay’s ‘Diya’ (‘Kaanam’ in Telugu). She has Selvaraghavan’s ‘NGK’ with Suriya Sivakumar and Hanu Raghavapudi’s film ‘Padi Padi Leche Manasu’.

As for Rana Daggubati, the actor made an appearance in the Hindi film Welcome To New York but has Haathi Mere Saathi, Enai Noki Paayum Thota, NTR, and Houseful 4.
