The multi-lingual film will focus on how Nambi Narayanan was in-charge of the cryogenics division. It is reported that in 1994, he was falsely charged with espionage and arrested but the charges were dropped by the CBI two years later, and he was declared not guilty in 1998. India launched its first satellite headed for Mars and while Mangalyaan was a success in its first attempt itself, the teaser has Nambi Narayanan gazing out a prison window.
Directed by Ananth Mahadevan the film will focus on the scientist’s life and the ISRO espionage case. It has been made in Tamil, Hindi and English.
Madhavan last starred in Vikram Vedha where he played a police officer. He has a number of films in the pipeline including his first Telugu film Savyasachi, The actor also makes a special appearance in Aanand L Rai’s Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero that is due for release in December this year. Rocketry is slated for a December release.
