However sources close to the couple say that the reason behind their divorce might be 'loss of interest and love'. Reports state that, Soundarya and Ashwin were never in love and hardly interacted with each other and their gestures towards each other too suggested that they were not fond of each other anymore. Even after dating for four years, the couple tied the knot just for the sake of it.
Soundarya and Ashwin have a one-year-old son named Ved who was born in March 2015.

After Rajinikanth returned from the U.S. in August this year, he stayed with Soundarya for a while and tried to pacify the differences between the couple. But Soundarya and Ashwin have gone ahead with their decision to get separated.
Soundarya is a graphic designer, director and producer and owns her production company, Ocher Studios. She made India’s first motion capture film, Kochadaiyaan with her father Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead. She also paved way for the blockbuster Kabali by bringing the director, Pa. Ranjith and Rajinikanth together.
