Kalki Koechlin is a true-blue Pondy girl and with roots down south, the actress says she loves everything about being a South Indian. “I love the sea, masala dosa and filter kapi in Chennai,” says Kalki. The actress was in Chennai recently and spoke to JFW about her relationship with the veteran actress, Revathi who played her onscreen mom in Margarita With A Straw. “Revathi and all of us from the cast and crew used to stay in a service apartment and I remember she used to take care of us and used to cook delicious sambar rice. She’s like a mother to me,” she added.

The actress also said she’s a typical Tamil girl, though she has French ancestors. “I miss Pondy but I do visit it whenever I have time. I also have a brother who lives in Chennai and I’m happy to be home,” said the actress.
