Priyanka Chopra Called A Scam Artist!

Sonam Kapoor rushes to her defence!

Priyanka Chopra, who recently got married to her beau, American singer Nick Jonas, was found in the middle of a controversy when an article by New York Times’ The Cut alleged that she’s a “global scam artist” who only married Nick for the money. The vile article was demeaning, to say the least, bordering on racist and classist where the author implies that the whole marriage is a sham and that Nick is the victim of something he didn’t ask for.

The article titled “Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s Love for Real?,” authored by writer and comedian Mariah Smith is all about how Priyanka is using Nick for her own gain. The article, predictably, got slammed by many including Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor and actor Arjun Kapoor to name a few.

PC’s brother-in-law, Joe Jonas too shared his opinion on the article, calling it disgusting. “This is disgusting. should be ashamed to have someone write such evil words. What Nick & Pri have is Beautiful Love. Thank u, Next,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Priyanka, too, shared her opinion on the article. Her reply is fairly savage, to say the least. “I don’t even want to react or comment. It’s not even in my stratosphere. I’m in a happy place at this moment. These kinds of random things can’t disturb it,” she is quoted saying.

Ever since the article got published, the author and the magazine got slammed forcing them to take it down and issue an apology. They wrote:

“Last night, the Cut published a post about Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s relationship that shouldn’t have gone up. We’ve received dozens of messages from readers expressing their anger. We want you to know that we hear you and we’re sorry. The whole piece missed the mark. There is no good explanation for this other than human error and poor judgement. This was a mistake, and we apologize to our readers and to Priyanka and Nick.”

Pictures of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding are out, first exclusively published by PEOPLE magazine. The newlyweds appear on the magazine’s cover, where every detail of their recent nuptial is written about.

PC, for the Indian wedding at Jodhpur, wore a red lehenga designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee who incidentally also designed Deepika’s wedding outfits. The whole look was designed by the designer and took more than 100 craftsmen to work for over 3700 hours on the magnificent outfit that Priyanka Chopra wore on her Hindu wedding.

As for the Christian wedding, PC wore a gorgeous gown with a massive train at the back that had six people holding it upright.

The Chopra-Jonas families booked the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace for the wedding from November 29, 2018, to December 3, 2018. The couple has booked the fort from November 29 to December 1. It will be closed for tourists on these three days. It is said that the cost of the wedding is coming up to Rs 3.2 crores!
