Talking about that during a press interaction, the actress said that the south actresses are finally getting what they deserve. There have been times when even if the film is successful, they are not paid for their role. Talking about top actresses like Anushka Shetty, Nayanthara, and Samantha Akkineni, she said, “Actors like Anushka Shetty, Nayanthara, Samantha Akkineni are great examples to look up to. It’s a wonderful thing that women are finally speaking up and asking for what they’re worth.”
Further discussing the #metoo movement in India, Priyamani said, “It’s beautiful and stunning to sit back and take note of how our girls are bold and unabashedly honest about their journeys. While I am not vouching for it, all I’m trying to say is that the occurrence could literally be around us – at homes, in universities, software offices, MNCs, call centers and everywhere else. People need to be sensitized to the issue, but I would also urge everyone not to be gullible while listening to stories. The impact has been so powerful that men don’t really flirt anymore.”
