Post-Dhadak, Janhvi Kapoor Still In Denial About Sridevi!

The film released a week ago!

Janhvi Kapoor, daughter of late actress Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, is the new star kid on the block. The 21-year-old made her film debut in Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak, a film that continues to get mixed reviews for being a remake of the superbly made Marathi film Sairat. Amidst all this, Janhvi has acknowledged how people are keen on her featuring in more films solely because of her connection with Sridevi.

However, she admits to being more focused about work. Speaking to Filmfare, she recollected the difficult time when her mother died and how she wanted to focus on work.

“I haven’t got around the acceptance stage yet. It’s just that there hasn’t been time or I haven’t allowed myself the time to come to terms with everything. There’s a stage of denial that we’re all going through. I wanted to shoot the next day (after the cremation). But the shoot got cancelled. I was like, No, I must go back, I need to be on the set. I thought I was going to lose my mind if I didn’t do that,” she said.

Superstar Sridevi, who died on February 24 around 11 PM UAE time at a hotel room in Dubai, has been the centre of various speculations for a while now. Accompanied by her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor, Sridevi was in Dubai for a family wedding when she died. It is said that she went into the hotel bathroom, and when she did not come back on time, a worried Boney Kapoor entered the bathroom with the hotel staff, where he found his wife unconscious. Sridevi was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Her death has been ruled as a case of accidental drowning.
