While on her way home, Pallavi was in an Uber cab and could smell something burning inside. This happened at TTK road flyover area.
Popular costume designer and stylist Pallavi Singh took to social media to narrate her horrible experience during her Uber ride. Pallavi was on her way back home when she spotted something wrong with her cab. She sensed a burning smell in the car and saw smoke emanating from below the vehicle. While the cab driver had not noticed the smoke or smells, people from outside had noticed and asked them to come out.
Post that, the car burnt to flames with Pallavi’s ID and and wallet too engulfed in the fire. She described it as the scariest moment in her life.

Pallavi said that what was more unfortunate is that Uber was unaware of the whole incident and they didn’t contact her. “This is the height of carelessness, ignorance and shows utter lack of interest in their customers,” Pallavi wrote in her post.
Uber had reached out to Pallavi.

Here’s an official statement from an Uber spokesperson:
“Uber is grateful that both the rider and driver partner are safe after this incident. We have also reached out to them both and applaud the rider for quickly bringing this issue to our attention. There’s nothing more critical than the safety of our riders and driver partners and we standby to assist the law enforcement with any information they might require.”
