Pink Tamil Remake: Shraddha Srinath Joins!

After Vidya Balan, she is the latest addition!

Over the past few months, news of the Tamil remake of the Hindi movie Pink has been doing the rounds with Ajith Kumar starring in the lead. Directed by Theeran Adhigaram Ondru director H Vinoth, the film’s main cast – the women – have been speculated over time.

A few weeks ago, it was confirmed that Vidya Balan would be making her Tamil debut with this film, starring in a crucial role. It has now been confirmed that Vikram Vedha actress Shraddha Srinath will also be starring in the film and will likely play the leading role, what Taapsee Pannu had played in the Hindi version.

The actress will soon start shooting for the film, putting rumours of Nazriya Nazim or Kalyani Priyadarshan joining the cast to rest.

The remake stars Ajith Kumar in Amitabh Bachchan’s role. The other actors include journalist Rangaraj Pandey and filmmaker Adhik Ravichandran as the antagonists. As for the other two actresses alongside Shraddha, rumours are rife that Andrea Tariang from the original might be a part of the film along with Abhirami Venkatachalam.

Earlier, in a statement about the film, producer Boney Kapoor said, “While working with Ajith in English Vinglish, Sridevi had expressed her desire to make a Tamil film with Ajith for our home production. Nothing exciting came up till one day last year. Ajith suggested a remake of ‘Pink’ in Tamil. She (Sridevi) immediately agreed saying it was the most appropriate and timely film to make, and Ajith would bring all the elements required to make it into a great Tamil film.” Ajith and Sridevi have acted together in Gauri Shinde’s Hindi movie English Vinglish.

On the work front, Shraddha has Hindi film Milan Talkies in the pipeline. Shraddha has also signed up for yet another film with Madhavan. Directed by Dhilip Kumar, the film will be about two people who have a mature outlook and how their love story comes together by the simple things in life. Music composer Ghibran is on board, so is art director Ajayan Chalissery. The film has been titled Maara. She is also the female lead in actor Arulnithi Tamilarasu’s upcoming film.
