Arav who was working as a Mechanical Engineer in a company, entered the modelling world with the help of celebrity photographer V S Anandhakrishna who held a photoshoot with him and got a Dubai-based garment company to approach him. Once he was introduced into the South Indian film industry, he played some small roles. He played a supporting role as a colleague of Dulquer Salmaan in O Kadhal Kanmani. The first major role he bagged was as a negative supporting character in the movie Saithan alongside Vijay Anthony.
In 2017, he became famous with BiggBoss season 1, especially because of his controversial relationship with actress Oviya and her subsequent leaving of the house. While rumours said that they continued their relationship, both Oviya and Arav stated that they were only friends in interviews. Arav went on to become the title winner which led him to sign the film Market Raja MBBS.
Amidst his shoot for his second film, Raja Bheema, Arav and Raahei got married. Raahei is the lead actress of Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha, a Gautam Menon movie, starring Varun in the lead role. The movie was supposed to have a theatrical release in October 2020, but has been delayed because of the Covid-19 spread.
It is reported that Arav and Raahei had been in love for quite a longtime and that they kept it a secret from fans and the media. While posting about his wedding on Instagram, Arav wrote ‘Imai Pol Kaapen’ under a photo of him and her in their wedding attire. Ever since their wedding, both Arav and Raahei have been posting pictures with each other on their social media, giving fans a lot of excitement. Along with their wedding pictures and their first Diwali pictures, their very first Eid picture makes all the fans go ‘Awwwww’ in admiration.
