Oscars’ Biggest Blunder In History Embarrasses Hollywood!

Chaos happened on the stages of the Oscar when the presenters  Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced ‘La La Land’ to have won the ‘Best Picture’ award at the 89th Academy Awards ceremony. When the producers of ‘La La Land’ were almost done with their acceptance speech, the presenters apologetically said that they had read the wrong name and it was actually the movie ‘Moonlight’ that won the ‘Best Picture’ award.

‘La La Land’ producer Jordan Horowitz realizing the mistake, said, “This is not a joke, ‘Moonlight’ has won best picture…I’m going to be really proud to hand this to my friends from ‘Moonlight’.” Along with this, he showed the card to the audience which had the name ‘Moonlight’ as the best picture.

But, let’s not forget that the worldwide loved film ‘La La Land’ has already taken away 6 Academy Awards. Here is the list of all the winners of the 89th Academy Awards:

The Oscars had a variety of choices this year choosing every option more wisely than ever. Mahershala Ali is the first Muslim actor to ever win an Oscar and Viola Davis is the first black woman to win an Oscar, Emmy, and Tony. Let’s hope Oscar’s jury will remain unbiased and have a versatile range of winners every year.

A similar incident happened in the year 2015 when Miss Universe’s host Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner of the pageant as Miss Colombia when it was actually Miss Philippines; he immediately apologized for the blunder.
