According to reports, fire broke out on the 32nd floor of the building’s B-wing before it spread to the top storey and the one below. It was brought under control by 6:30 pm, and with operations underway till evening. Deepika’s apartment is on the 26th floor and the actress took to Twitter to ensure fans of her safety.

About 60 fire fighters used 12 engines, eight water tankers and two turntable ladders to douse the fire over a period of four hours. It is said that two firemen were hospitalised after inhaling a significant amount of smoke while dousing the fire.
