Manju Warrier and Dhanush have set the bar high with their impeccable acting in Asuran and the film is a huge blockbuster hit. Filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi who directed the hit film Padi Padi Leche Manasu starring Sharwanand and Sai Pallavi will be seen directing the Telugu remake of Asuran. Although there have been no official confirmations, sources confirm that Venkatesh Daggubati will reprise the role of Dhanush from the film.

It was only earlier confirmed that actress Shriya Saran would be reprising the role of Manju Warrier’s Pachaiyamma and a picture of her in a wedding attire was even doing the rounds. However, sources close to the team now confirm that actress Anushka Shetty is being considered for the role. The film will go on floors early next year. The film is touted to be produced by Suresh Babu and Kalaipuli S Thanu. The Tamil version directed by Vetrimaaran was inspired by the novel Vekkai written by award-winning writer Poomani. Dhanush and Manju Warrier’s role was critically claimed and their chemistry impressed the audience. The film crossed 100 crores at the box-office. Official announcements on the cast and crew in awaited.
