Nayanthara has only voiced her opinions over the most trivial things. It was earlier during a controversy with Radha Ravi when she sent out an official press statement, she was then found doing an interview with Vogue India and finally, today Nayanthara released yet another press statement with regards to the Veterinary doctor’s rape and murder in Hyderabad. Nayanthara congratulated the Telangana Police but has also talked about how enlightenment is imperative. Here’s what she had to say:

“Justice is good when served hot. What’s been a cinematic phrase so far has become a reality today and the real heroes – Telangana Police have proved it with their action. I would call this “A RIGHT ACT OF HUMANITY”. Every woman of this country can mark this date in the calendar as a day of true justice. Speaking about humanity, it’s all about respecting, showing love and compassion towards all with equality. More than rejoicing over the justice served, it is a moment to enlighten and educate the children especially boys at our homes imparting them the message that men become the hero when they make this planet a safe place for women. The four accused in Dr. Chitra Reddy’s rape case were brought to the crime spot for reconfirmation of the events. “Cyberabad Police had brought the accused persons to the crime spot for re-construction of the sequence of events. The accused snatched weapon and fired on Police. In self-defense the police fired back, in which the accused were killed,” stated Cyberabad’s Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar.

“The accused Mohammed Arif, Naveen, Shiva, and Chennakeshavulu were killed in a Police encounter at Chatanpally, Shadnagar today in the wee hours, between 3 am and 6 am. I have reached the spot and further details will be revealed,” he added.

Talking to the press about the news, Dr. Reddy’s father stated, “It has been ten days to the day my daughter died. I express my gratitude towards the police and government for this. My daughter’s soul must be at peace now.”
