Dhanush, a contemporary of the actress with his acting debut coming in 2002’s ThulluvadhoIlamai and a superstar in his own right, is one of the many admirers of Nayanthara’s successful career.
The duo have been best friends ever since they did the film Yaaradi Nee Mohini together and the actor has been through Nayanthara’s Ups and Downs. In this throwback interview, Nayanthara has opened up about why Dhanush will always remain to be her favourite costar. Nayanthara said that Dhanush always made her laugh even while performing her scenes. In order to not keep laughing, she apparently had asked him to close his eyes so that she would be able to concentrate more.
She furthe stated that he is always there for her no matter what.
Dhanush has also showered praises on Nayanthara during several interviews. “She always takes care of the people around her. I have seen the way she takes care of her team during Yaradi Nee Mohini days. In the middle, she took a break but made a strong comeback. As Aishwarya Rajesh mentioned here, today Nayanthara has created a market for herself in the female-centric films,” said Dhanush.
Although Nayanthara and Dhanush have the only co-starred in Yaradi Nee Mohini, Dhanush has produced Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi’s 2015 hit Naanum Rowdy Thaan. They also shared the screen for the song “Sathyama Nee Ennaku” in Sivakarthikeyan’sEthirNeechal, another movie released under Dhanush’s Wunderbar Studios. Both the Kollywood heavyweights are busy with their own releases this year.
For Dhanush, he has Atrangi Re alongside Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar, he also has Karnan, Jagame Thandhiram, Naane Varuven and another untitled Selvaraghavan film in Tamil. He has The Grey Man in Hollywood alongside Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans.
Nayanthara has Kaathuvaakkula Rendu Kadhal, Netri Kann, Mookuthi Amman and Nizhal. She will also be seen doing a cameo in Rajinikanth’s Annathae.
