Vignesh started the pre-production work of his first film Podaa Podi in 2008 but due to various reasons, the film hit the screens only in 2012. Though Vignesh’s work in Podaa Podi was appreciated, a wrong release date (clashed with the mighty Thuppakki) affected the film’s revenue and it ended up as a lukewarm venture at the box office. But thanks to Vignesh’s talent in writing lyrics, he wrote songs for Anirudh Ravichander (Vanakkam Chennai, Aako, Maari), Harris Jayaraj (Yennai Arindhaal) and Podaa Podi composer Dharan (Virattu) to stay afloat in the industry.
Vignesh even played a small cameo in Dhanush’s Velai Illa Pattadhari before lady luck smiled at him with Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Naanum Rowdy Thaan is super special to Vikky. Not only did he find success with the film, he also found his love. Nayanthara and Vignesh met in the sets of Naanum Rowdy Thaan and there were sparks all over the place. The couple soon began dating and still continue to be in a healthy but unannounced relationship.
