Vignesh started the pre-production work of his first film Podaa Podi in 2008 but due to various reasons, the film hit the screens only in 2012. Though Vignesh’s work in Podaa Podi was appreciated, a wrong release date (clashed with the mighty Thuppakki) affected the film’s revenue and it ended up as a lukewarm venture at the box office. But thanks to Vignesh’s talent in writing lyrics, he wrote songs for Anirudh Ravichander (Vanakkam Chennai, Aako, Maari), Harris Jayaraj (Yennai Arindhaal) and Podaa Podi composer Dharan (Virattu) to stay afloat in the industry.
Vignesh even played a small cameo in Dhanush’s Velai Illa Pattadhari before lady luck smiled at him with Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Naanum Rowdy Thaan is super special to Vikky. Not only did he find success with the film, he also found his love. Nayanthara and Vignesh met in the sets of Naanum Rowdy Thaan and there were sparks all over the place. The couple soon began dating and still continue to be in a healthy but unannounced relationship.
The multi-talented Vignesh ShivN is celebrating his birthday today. Taking time off their demanding work life, Vikky and Nayanthara are celebrating the day in New York. The duo has always praised each other in many events and has made appearances as a couple too. In fact, Vignesh changed his name from Vignesh Shivan to Vignesh ShivN for N is so important to him. For Lady superstar Nayanthara, stardom maybe for the world, but her world is Vikky!
Vignesh is currently directing Suriya in Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, which is scheduled for Pongal 2018 release. He is also being sought after by many directors to write lyrics after his successful venture in it.
After completing Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, Vignesh is expected to direct Sivakarthikeyan for Studio Green. Nayan has her hands full with back to back releases that includes Velaikaaran, which will be followed by the social drama Aram, where she portrays a district collector. She also plays the main character in Chakri Toleti’s Kolaiyuthir Kaalam, the thriller Imaikkaa Nodigal and Bharath Krishnamachari’s Ner Vazhi.
