After a successful directorial debut with Pa Pandi starring Raj Kiran and Revathi, Dhanush is all set to make his second film and this time it would be a magnum opus period film. However, it was earlier reported that the film has been dropped as Dhanush has gotten busy with his acting projects. The speculations have come to an end and Dhanush is reportedly all set to resume the direction of his second film.

The film is reportedly titled Naan Rudra and the background is set in the pre-independence era. Touted to be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual, the film stars Nagarjuna in the lead and Aditi Rao Hydari will be seen playing a pivotal role. The film also has SJ Suryah, Sarathkumar, Srikanth among many others.

Earlier last year, talking about the project Nagarjuna was quoted as saying, “It’s a period drama and this role is extra special to me because I’ve attempted something I’ve never done before. I play a character who goes 600 years back in time. It’s an interesting role.”

The film will be produced by Thenandal Films, music composed by Sean Roldan and cinematography by Om Prakash and Prasanna GK.
