The ‘Bahubali’ actor had made a shocking revelation that shook everyone in the country. Rana’s right eye is non-functional and that he is completely blind from the right eye. Rana’s admission on the show left the audience shocked. “Should I tell you one thing, I am blind from my right eye. I see only from my left eye. The one you see is someone else’s eye which was donated to me after his death. If I close my left eye, I can see no one.”
He then clarified in an interview with a Telugu channel he clarified saying that it was to inspire a kid. “There was this kid on the show whose mother had lost vision because of some tumor. I spoke about my vision problem to motivate them and tell them that life goes on. I said it a long time ago and I never knew it will break out now,” he said.
“I had a transplant years ago. Very few people knew about it. By logic, it’s a handicap. If I shut one eye, I can’t see from the other. But it is one of those things which I don’t think too much about. One needs to have the strength to move forward.”
“On most of my sets, it is a joke. Like Prabhas would always ask whether I could see the mark before the beginning of an action sequence,” he said.
Rana continued to tell the contestant that being blind should not stop her or her children from living life or being under the pressure of fear. “LV Prasad operated me when I was young. Study well, we will support, be courageous as you have to look after her. Sorrows will go away one day but you have to gear up and keep them happy always,” said the ‘Aarambam’ actor.
Rana, in the span of almost eight years of his career, has played quite many roles. He became an international phenomenon with his film – Baahubali The Beginning, which released in the year of 2015. The sequel got into the 100 crore club within 24 hours.
