1. Captain Miller- Tamil

Starring Dhanush in the lead, the movie also features Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Mohan and Sundeep Krishnan. Arun Matheswaran, the director of Saani Kaayidham and Rocky brings us this tale of an uprising against the British Army. One of the most anticipated releases of this year, everyone is waiting to see Dhanush re-ignite the magic on screen which he failed to do with Vaathi in 2023. 

2. Ayalaan – Tamil

Starring Sivakarthikeyan and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead, this movie is a science fiction comedy that is sure to tickle your funny bone. In this story, an alien is stranded on Planet Earth and is rescued and then protected by Sivakarthikeyan’s character. The movie also stars Isha Kopikar, Sharad Kelkar, Yogi Babu and Siddharth ledning his voice as the CGI alien. 

3. Merry Christmas – Tamil & Hindi

Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif in the lead, this mystery thriller is bilingually shot in Tamil and Hindi. It’s from the same director who gave us the fabulous Andhadhun , Sriram Raghavan. The movie takes you through the events of one night when the two meet and what events unfold thereafter. 

4. Mission Chapter 1- Tamil

This movie stars Arun Vijay, Amy Jackson and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead. An action-packed thriller film, the movie revolves around the story of a father who escapes prison in London and what happens before and after the jailbreak. It’s produced by Lyca Production and the music is by GV Prakash. 

5. Guntur Kaaram – Telugu

A family entertainer, this movie stars Mahesh Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Sreelala, Jayaram and Prakash Raj. Director Trivikram’s third movie with the superstar is expected to be an out-and-out entertainer. The movie has it all, love, romance, familial bonds, a strained mother-son relationship and the commercial value of a successful hit. 

6. Saindhav- Telugu

Starring Venkatesh Daggubati and Shraddha Shrinath in the lead, the movie is the story of a father and daughter. The daughter is battling a terminal illness and the father is trying his best not to let his violent past affect his presence. 

7. Abraham Ozler- Malayalam

Starring Jayaram in the lead with Arjun Ashokan, Jagadish and Anaswara Rajan as the supporting cast, it’s the story of an ex-cop. Navigating the intricacies of the serial killing case, he contends with its complexities, leading the audience on a suspenseful journey rife with unexpected twists and turns.
