The film’s shoot will begin on January 26, with composer-turned-actor GV Prakash on board for the project. The rest of the cast and crew will be revealed soon. The film is reportedly based on the novel Vekkai by Poomani. Dhanush had earlier revealed the film’s first look in December. This collaboration between him and Vetrimaaran comes soon after Vada Chennai, which was released last year. Asuran is the actor’s fourth film with the director, after Pollathavan, Aadukalam and Vada Chennai.

While she has made a mark in the Malayalam industry, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Manju Warrier knows how to speak Tamil well. In fact, at the JFW Awards 2018, Manju Warrier, who won Excellence in Cinema award and revealed that she knows how to speak, read and understand Tamil because she was born in Tamil Nadu’s Nagercoil. In 2018, she starred in three films – Aami (the Kamala Das biopic), Mohanlal, and Odiyan. In the pipeline, she has Lucifer and Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham
As for Dhanush, the actor was last seen in Vada Chennai and the recently released Maari 2. He has Gautham Menon’s Enai Noki Paayum Thota waiting to be released.
