Actor Ajith, whose Valimai released in theatres a couple of months back has signed up for his next film with Valimai’s director H Vinoth. The film is currently untitled, and is called AK 61, referring to Ajith’s 61st film.

Now, entertainment journalist Sreedhar Pillai has announced that Malayalam actress Manju Warrier has been signed as the female lead opposite Ajith for AK61. Announcing on Twitter, he said, “Actress Manju Warrier has been signed as the lead opposite Ajith Kumar in AK61.” Manju Warrier made her Tamil debut in 2019 with Dhanush’s Asuran, where she played the leading lady. AK61 would mark Manju’s second film in Kollywood.

Meanwhile, Ajith has also signed up AK62 with Naanum Rowdy Dhaan director Vignesh Shivan. On the work front, Manju Warrier has a number of films, including, Padavettu, Vellaripattanam, and Ayisha in her pipeline. A movie called Amriki Pandit will mark her debut into Bollywood.

Manju Warrier was also in the news recently after Filmmaker Sanal Kumar Sasidharan was arrested earlier today after she filed a complaint against him. She filed a case that he had reportedly stalked and threatened her on social media. In her complaint, filed at the Elamakkara Police station in Kochi, the actress stated that the director has been blackmailing and defaming her through his posts on social media. The cops have arrested the director and have shared a live video of him resisting the police custody, on Facebook.
