Madhavan Turns Director; You Won’t Be Able To Recognise Him!

Madhavan has announced that he will be taking over the director’s reins for his next film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect – the biopic on ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan. The director Ananth Mahadevan had to quite due to unavoidable circumstances and now Madhavan, who is also the lead actor, will be the director. Needless to say, he says he’s pretty nervous but the enormous words of encouragement around sure helps him.

Rocketry is about an extraordinary man named Nambi Narayanan. It is reported that in 1994, he was falsely charged with espionage and arrested but the charges were dropped by the CBI two years later, and he was declared not guilty in 1998. The film will focus on the scientist’s life and the ISRO espionage case. It has been made in Tamil, Hindi and English. The multi-lingual film will focus on how Nambi Narayanan was in-charge of the cryogenics division.

Madhavan was last seen in the Telugu movie Savyasachi. He also had a cameo in the Hindi film Zero, starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. The actor has been sharing glimpses of his role in the biopic for a while now, sharing how he has changed his look for the film. He recently shared an image with the real Nambi Narayanan and the resemblance is uncanny!

Meanwhile, sources say that Simran will be playing the female lead in the film, paired opposite Maddy. If true, the two will be reuniting after 17 years. The two were last seen in together in Mani Ratnam’s Kannathil Muthamittal.
