Rocketry is about an extraordinary man named Nambi Narayanan. It is reported that in 1994, he was falsely charged with espionage and arrested but the charges were dropped by the CBI two years later, and he was declared not guilty in 1998. The film will focus on the scientist’s life and the ISRO espionage case. It has been made in Tamil, Hindi and English. The multi-lingual film will focus on how Nambi Narayanan was in-charge of the cryogenics division.

Madhavan was last seen in the Telugu movie Savyasachi. He also had a cameo in the Hindi film Zero, starring alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif.
