Loved ’96’ Movie’s Songs? The Composer Signs New Project With Mani Ratnam’s Production!

Govind Vasantha, the composer behind the beautiful tunes in the recently released romantic-drama ’96’, has signed a film under Mani Ratnam’s production – a feat that few composers have gotten the chance. The musician took to social media to share a picture and the news of this new development.

“With the man who brought “Velunayagan” and “Anandan” to life in front of us. Honored to have signed up for a movie to be produced and co-written by The Mani Ratnam. Directed by Dhana Sekaran. Forever indebted to you @bejoynambiar.” he wrote.

The 30-year-old musician hails from a musical family from Kerala. He is a founder member of the musical band Thaikkudam Bridge. His father Peethambaran Menon has been a star performer in his band. He has worked as a singer and composer in several popular films including the Malayalam film 100 Days of Love that starred Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen.

With ’96’, he made a huge name thanks to his deftly worked music and soulful collaborations with singers Chinmayi Sripada and Pradeep Kumar.

In the pipeline, he has Seethakathi – a Vijay Sethupathi film, Moothon, and Asuravadham.
