Ever imagined if you get to take an interview of your biggest celebrity crush and then you fall in love? May seem like a fantasy, but for a 22-year-old college student Latha Rangachari, it was a reality. In the year 1980, Rajinikanth was shooting for the Tamil remake of hit Hindi film ‘Golmaal’. The movie titled ‘Thillu Mullu’ turned out to be a blockbuster and gave way for the couple to announce their relationship.

Mrs. Rajinikanth was studying at Ethiraj College when she approached a budding superstar Rajinikanth for an interview in the college magazine. Many reports suggest that the couple fell head over heels in love with each other at the end of the interview, he was in awe of her.

It has been 39 years since the couple has tied the knot. Congratulating this wonderful couple on their anniversary, their second daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth took to social media. “LOVE LOVE LOVE you endlessly amma & Appa. happy anniversary.”
