Vidyulekha is an Indian actor and theatre performer who has appeared in Tamil and Telugu films. She made her debut in Neethaane En Ponvasantham in a supporting role to the lead that gained an appreciation for her performance in the movie. She was last seen in a Telugu movie named Gully Rowdy. She also recently gained popularity for her weight loss transformation during the pandemic in social media.
Vidyu has now tied the knot with her 2-year long boyfriend Sanjay Watwani, a Food Entrepreneur. Due to her busy schedule, she never got a chance to find the one through any conventional methods and hence she joined a dating app called Bumble and that’s where she matched with her happily ever after. The two met online through the app on 10 th March 2019.
They met in person a week later and have a lot of common friends and interests and hence started dating eventually. “Since her bio said she was a comic, he had asked her out to an open mic night and she loved it! I was nervous at first but it soon started feeling like we’d known each other for years”, said Sanjay as per their Instagram post.
Sanjay is a food entrepreneur that focuses on low carb/sugar-free desserts named Keto Chennai. He is expected to expand his reach and locations very soon. He hails from a Sindhi family who are from the garment export business and are from Chennai.
Sanjay wasn’t aware of her work initially but after him knowing he had kept cheering and rooting for his beloved. She will continue to act and is soon expected to make her debut as a lead very soon. “When I was hosting shows, he was in the audience cheering me each time. That’s when I realized he was all in”, says, Vidyu. This was the moment she realized she was falling for him.
Their families were completely supportive of their love and said yes to their intercultural marriages. Both Ramans and Watwanis have had love and intercultural marriages in the past.
The couple got hitched in on 9th September 2021 at a popular 5-star Resort in ECR, Chennai. They had two weddings in two different types, one the traditional Tamil wedding during the day and the other is the Sindhi style with a beachfront in the evening which was followed by a reception. They also had a Roka ceremony – which is a pre-engagement ceremony done in the Punjabi and Sindhi cultures took place last year in August 2020.
These love birds have been quite traumatized due to COVID-19, having to date via long video calls and planning their dream weddings all were chaos. Their wedding date had been pushed twice. “We were ready to get married before the pandemic, but the delay taught us how to be more responsible and patient”, says Vidyu. And they finally decided to get married once the COVID-19 cases dropped.
In the wake of Corona, they had an intimate wedding with their close family and friends with the safety protocols and precautions.
The actor was seen wearing a beautiful red gown and Sanjay was sporting a matching suit for their Sangeet with the theatre theme with a beautiful backdrop written “Now Showing, #SaViWedding”
She wore a beautiful yellow blue Madisar Saree and he went all South Indian wearing a Pattu Veshti Sattai for their day wedding.
She wore a sparkly- grand red Lehenga and him a matching Sherwani for their Sindhi-style evening wedding.
The couple went regal for their reception, she wore a pastel pink Gown and he went all classic wearing a Black Suit.
The happy couple is right now vacating in the Maldives for their honeymoon and is said to get back to their respective jobs very soon.
She got her prince charm and he, her princess, and their happily ever after began just like that!
