The Badshah of Bollywood recently said in an interview that the audience prefer to watch young actresses on screen, while they do not mind seeing older actors romancing. Here are these leading ladies who are totally nailing the 40s!

 

 

Khushboo

Actress, producer, television hostess, and a politician,Nakhat Khan aka Khushboo just cant stop! Having forayed into films in the early 80’s for Khushboo the journey has been incredible. Having had her share of controversies, mother to Avanthika and Ananditha,Khushboo continues to multi task.We all know how frenzied her audience get and now in her forties ,she still evokes such responses from her fans across. Khushboo is known for her strong role. Her screen space was equally shared with her lead pairs. She has been paired with all the lead actors and has acted in over 100 film across south Indian films.Today is , she is popular with small screen production and does take on roles on the silver screen.

 

 

Madhuri

“Ek Do Theen” are just numbers ! And so is age.Turning 50 this year this leading  actress in the 1980s, 1990s and early-2000 was known her acting and dancing skills.After a string of successes and critical acclaims ,Madhuri took a sabbatical form films due to motherhood. She made a come back in 2007 and since then has acted in few movies. Remember Parvathi in Devadas, bubbly Nisha in Hum Apke Hai koun or the political leader Rajjo, any role Ms Dixit essays into she sure leaves a lasting memory.

 

 

Kajol

This lovely lady made her entry ,when she was 17 years ,in the early 90’s. She rose to prominence with” Baazigar” and became the highest paid actress of her time.”I’m not quitting films, I’m just being selective. Fortunately, I’m in a position where I can pick and choose”,said Kajol when she took a brief break from acting. Kajol has defied the stereotypical image of a Hindi film actress  in several ways.She is one among those actresses who has been successful both in her career and personal life.

 

 

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

She was ridiculed for her post pregnancy weight gain ,but this blue eyed beauty  was not discouraged. Look at her now,the spectacular seductress, has the shutter bugs vie for a shot.The drop-dead gorgeous lady can share a lesson or two to all the new mothers out there! The Miss World of 1994 rallied into the film industry with “Iruvar” , a tamil film by director Mani Ratnam in 1997. She gave a hit every year since then. Aishwarya Rai took a sabbatical from film acting in 2010, and made her comeback with the thriller “Jazbaa”in the year 2015. Her determination and hard work has made her to become an actress who is in demand post marriage and motherhood. An inspiration to all the women out there!

 

 

Shilpa Shetty

This is one lady who is sure to make heads turn. The yoga enthusiast brought in a new craze to this ancient practice . Her religious routine and arduous effort cannot miss the eye. A perfect ten for her figure , Shilpa Shetty , now Shilpa Shetty Kundra, is a role model to her juniors ,young woman and newbie mothers.Although not active in the industry ,Shilpa is busy  judging a dance reality show “Super Dancer”. Shilpa has also released a DVD on Yoga. Her participation at the Big Brother catapulted her fame internationally. Neither did her marriage to Kundra nor her motherhood stopped her being the diva she is today.

Most actresses land with roles as the elder sister,an in law or even a mother,if she is in her mid thirties. This is business we understand and age should be just a number. These women have defied such perceptions.The beauties in their forties are roaring to roar!
