Kollywood’s Heartthrob Turns Filmmaker!

Actor Arvind Swami, who was regarded as Tamil cinema’s heartthrob in the 90s and now a stylish contemporary actor, will soon make his directorial debut!

The 47-year-old actor had reportedly said that he will don the director’s hat soon and will make official announcements soon. He has also zeroed in on the technical department for his directorial debut. If all goes well, Arvind will officially start directing by the end of this year.

Arvind Swami is known for his terrific performance in films such as Roja (1992), Bombay (1995), Minsaara Kannavu (1997) earlier. He had gone on a hiatus but returned with an equally smashing performance in 2013’s Kadal and then reinventing a whole new image for himself with Thani Oruvan in 2015.

The actor was recently seen in Bhaskar Oru Rascal, starring alongside Amala Paul in the film. He has a slew of films in the pipeline including Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, Kartick Naren’s Naragasooran, heist comedy Sathuranga Vettai 2 with Trisha.

The details of his directorial debut will be out soon.
