But apart from the fight sequences and angry stares, Keerthy Suresh – the female lead – literally slides in front of the screen. Appearing in front of the hero’s car, her first words are directed at him and soon enough, she’s not someone who keeps quiet or cowers in front of other men or their power. She’s quick to silence men and rides a bike like a pro, even taking a selfie while doing her stunt. She’s also someone who isn’t shy to profess her desire to be the hero’s wife and talk about him being the ‘other man’ in her life.
The trailer also shows the other female character – Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. An intense one, she’s the villain here who challenged the hero to duel her. The trailer, for once, gives equal footage to the women where they walk away with most of the dialogues while the men are seen doing their action stunts.
Sandakozhi 2 has Vishal in a dual role and features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Rajkiran in pivotal roles. The film began production last year and is slated for an October 18 release.
As for Keerthy, having starred in the Savitri biopic, the young actress has Sarkar with Vijay in the pipeline. She was last seen in Saamy Square with Vikram and also had a small cameo in Sivakarthikeyan’s Seema Raja.
