A source close to the unit says that while the team is safe, they are stuck there as the road conditions are deplorable and cannot be used to travel any time soon until they are done with repair works. The actor had even released a press statement to keep his fans informed about his well-being.
The statement read:
“We had to shoot particular scenes in rain and snow. Apparently, things were perfect with gentle rain and even the weather forecast didn’t mention an alarming situation,” he writes.
The actor further highlights how things got worse after the floods and landslides hampered travelling by road and how he was stuck in his car for nearly five hours.
It is said that the team suffered a huge loss amounting to over Rs 1 crore. Meanwhile, the team are set to come back to Chennai soon.
According to Weather reports, Himachal Pradesh is facing one of its most adverse floods. There was heavy snowfall in Lahaul Spiti, Kullu and Kinnaur districts too, with 1.5 feet snow recorded at Rohtang Pass. Flooding in the Beas wreaked havoc in Kullu district, too. It is said that after 1995, this is the first time that such a devastating floodlike situation is being witnessed.
Made on a budget of Rs 55 crores, the film will include Karthi in a special look and teaming up with his ‘Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru’ female lead Rakul Preet Singh. Apart from the two leads, the cast includes Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, Amrudha, Vignesh, Vamsi, Ravi and actor Karthik in pivotal roles.
Directed by Rajath Ravishankar, the film is produced by Prince Pictures, and has Harris Jayaraj on board for the music, and cinematographer Velraj is in charge of the camera. Dev was officially launched in March this year.
