Karthi Learns Flying For Mani Ratnam’s Next!

Actor Karthi who will seen in Mani Ratnam’s next is currently undergoing flying lessons! He is taking a crash course on flying to prepare for his character who is a NRI pilot. A source said, ‘Karthi is learning the basics of flying, which includes even simple things like how to be seated while in the pilot’s seat. It will be a 2-3 weeks crash course and upon completion, the makers will finally take the film on the floors.’

The Mani Ratnam film will see Karthi play the character of an NRI man who falls in love with a doctor – played by Aditi Rao Hydari – while on a trip to India. Sai Pallavi of Premam fame was initially approached for the role, but due to date issues, Aditi Rao was roped by the the crew.

The film is produced by Mani Ratnam’s home banner, Madras Talkies, Ravi Varman will be handling cinematography and music is by A.R. Rahman. The theatrical rights of the Tamil and Telugu version has already been sold! Sources say, the overseas rights of the film is also likely to be sold before the film goes on floors! This news has certainly taken off a huge burden off the producers shoulders! The shooting is scheduled to start by June and is expected to have a year-end release.
