Taking to her social media handle, the actor shared some pictures of Chandramukhi 2. She shared two pictures from her vanity van. She is decked up traditionally. She tweeted, “Back on the sets of my upcoming movie Chandramukhi 2 with my team. It’s a very dramatic look and situation we are all very excited about it.”

Directed by P Vasu, the film marks the sequel to the 2005 film that starred Rajinikanth. The film stars Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles. The cast also includes Vadivelu, Radhika, Lakshmi Menon, Srushti Dange, Mahima Nambiar and Ravi Maria, among others. The film is backed by Lyca Productions. Meanwhile, it is reported that MM Keeravani is roped in to compose the music for the sequel. Notably, Chandramukhi ran for a record-shattering 890 days in theatres. It was a remake of the Malayalam classic Manichitrathazhu. The film stars actor-filmmaker- choreographer Raghava Lawrence, best known for acting, directing, writing and producing critically acclaimed Kanchana film series, in the lead role. Along with Raghava Lawrence, the film also stars legendary actor-comedian Vadivelu in the lead role. He is going to reprise his iconic character Murugesan from the first film.
The film’s shooting is Rajinikanth and Jyothika’s follow up is on full swing, meanwhile, there is another update about the film’s OTT release. Global OTT giant Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical OT rights of the film. Chandramukhi 2 will have a post theatre release on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada versions. There hasn’t been announcement regarding the Hindi OTT release so far.
Chandramukhi 2 was announced back in April 2020 with director P. Vasu, who helmed the first film, onboard to direct the sequel too. The title of the film was given by Shivaji Productions. The film which was supposed to be produced by Sun Pictures was taken over by filmmaker Subaskaran Allirajah’s Lyca Productions being his first collaboration with Raghava Lawrence. Legendary music director M.M. Keeravani has been roped in to compose the music and background score of the film whereas R.D. Rajasekar will crank the camera and Thotta Tharani will handle the cinematography. Later, Raghava Lawrence announced it in June 2022 via a social media post.
