Kangana Ranaut Got No Prosthetics To Look Like Jayalalithaa; Sister Rangoli Spills Some Beans About The Actress’ Transformation As Thalaivi!

How do you find this resemblance?

The team of the upcoming biopic titled Thalaivi starring Kangana Ranaut in the titular role has just released its second look and has been garnering various responses on social media. It was released on her birth anniversary to honour and pay homage to the former actress and CM of Tamil Nadu. The look shows her in her 30s just as she was entering politics sporting a white saree with a black and white border.

It has been reported that the second look of Kangana as Jayalalitha from the film has no prosthetics on, no makeup and neither has the picture been edited. The Bollywood star’s sister proudly dedicated her post to her sister on social media. “Kangana in and as #Thalaivi … without any prosthetics or any special effects, Kangana looks like Jaya Amma, shocking, the determination can make anything happen #Thalaivi.”

Kangana says, “After Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, this is my second biopic, and I am honoured to portray such a strong lady. Her personality is very different from anything I have portrayed earlier. It’s very gratifying to play someone who was so determined, persevered but had a silent strength which distinguished her from everyone else.”

Carried out by A.L. Vijay, who is in charge of this multilingual project, says, “The film depicts the early years and struggles she faced both as an actor and as a politician. The film will be an unvarnished depiction of Late Jayalalitha’s life. The late CM’s life was a mix of glamour, love, heartbreak, struggle, and success. Our focus is to make it as real as possible, without trying to glorify her, but show the human side of the person she was. Kangana’s dedication towards playing the character shows in the fact that she gained weight to stay true to the stage of her life that she is portraying. Her attention to detail, her makeup and costumes will make it a visual treat for the audience. They will feel like they are watching Jayalalitha herself on screen.”
