Kamal Haasan Visits The Queen Of England!

According to reports, the Queen of England who last visited India in the year 1997, was then very much interested in visiting a film set in India. Very fortunately, Kamal Haasan was the chosen one and the Queen visited the sets of ‘Marudhanayagam’ which was kick-started by the actor in the year 1997. From then chief minister M.Karunanidhi to Sivaji Ganesan, many visited the MGR Film City to meet the Queen. The magnum opus is a historic period film which had to come to a standstill due to lack of funds. She was invited to MGR Film City on October 16, 1997, where she spent 20 minutes.

From then, after 20 years, Kamal visited the Queen of England and the entire Royal family where he got a very short moment to converse with. He took it to social media to express his happiness. In his post, he said, “The Queen seemed in good health and remembered her visit to India fondly. The Duke of Edinburgh was in great shape and health as well. The exchange was brief as there were too many people. You might remember during Her Majesty’s visit to India, she visited my film set. Probably the only film shooting she had attended in her whole life.”

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan was one of the few Indian luminaries who has been accorded the honor of participating in the UK India Year of Culture Reception, held on February 27, 2017, at the Buckingham Palace of Queen Elizabeth II.
