Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film has been making waves, especially for its mixed bag cast. The film stars Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, STR, Arun Vijay, Jyothika, Aditi Rao Hydari and Aishwarya Rajesh. Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Film Productions, the film went on floors in February and the team shot in foreign locations including Abu Dhabi and Serbia.
While little is known about what the film is about and the characters in it, photos from the sets shared by members of the team show that it’s a serious drama with Jyothika playing an important role.
The music will be composed by AR Rahman and lyrics by Vairamuthu. After Kaatru Veliyidai, this is Mani Ratnam’s first film. The film is set for a September 28 release.
Meanwhile, stills from Jyothika’s other film, Kaatrin Mozhi, has been doing the rounds. The film is the Tamil remake of the Hindi film Tumhari Sulu, where Jyothika will be playing the role of a housewife who becomes an RJ for a late night radio show. The original was directed by Suresh Triveni and starred Vidya Balan in the lead. This Tamil remake is directed by Radha Mohan and features actor Vidhaart and Lakshmi Manchu. The film is set for an October 18 release.
