Rajinikanth has left to Dehradun to shoot for his next film, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The team are expected to shoot there for a month and then try to wrap it up in three months as they are eyeing for an early 2019 release. The superstar’s younger daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth, shared a video of the actor all set to commence his journey, stating that he’s going for the shoot with ‘Multiple Roles’ hashtagged.

So will Rajinikanth play multiple roles in Karthik Subbaraj’s film? Turns out, Soundarya only meant it as a figure of speech.

The untitled film has Rajinikanth on board, his next after Kaala and 2 Point O. The film is also likely to star Simran Bagga paired with him, although this hasn’t been confirmed by the makers. Bobby Simha and Sananth Reddy are also a part of the film, with the former having collaborated with Subbaraj in films like Pizza, Jigarthanda, Iraivi and the latter having worked with him in the recently released Mercury. Vijay Sethupathi also stars in the film, having admitted that he came on board just for the superstar.

Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the film and Tirru has been roped in to crank the camera. The film is being produced by Sun Pictures, who are also the producers for Thalapathy 62 starring Vijay.
