The hypocrisy of the Indian Society is well known when it coming to choosing nominees for prestigious awards. While many from K. Yesudass to M.S. Dhoni have been chosen for the Padma Awards, one very deserving talent has felt the pain of being left out – Jwala Gutta. Jwala took it to social media platform to express her agony about how the partiality of receiving a prestigious Award. She said, “I have been playing for this Country for more than 15 years and have won so many prestigious tournaments…I thought maybe I should apply but its never enough…You need recommendations, recommendations that you deserve an award.”
Here is what she said further:

While many extended their support through comments, there were few who didn’t take it very well. A commentator went up to the extent of comparing Jwala with Rahul Dravid indirectly letting her know that awards are earned. Rahul Dravid earlier declined the Doctrate that was offered to him by Bangalore University as he felt he did not earn it.
See the commentator’s response to Jwala’s letter:
@Guttajwala We know you deserve it.But demanding recognition ‘officially’ will not do any good.Checked Rahul Dravid? https://t.co/2zidvrZmgV

@Guttajwala you maybe be totally deserving the award. Lashing out like this just shows that you’re sore. Doesn’t do good to ur public image
