Just In: Keerthy Suresh Opts Out Of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyi Selvan To Join The Cast Of Thalaivar 168!

Keerthy Suresh is on a signing spree. The storylines, the first-looks, the teasers, they all look different from one another. The actress has reduced drastic weight for her role in Karthik Subbaraj’s Penguin while she has other films like Miss India, Marakkar to name a few in her kitty. The latest confirmation from Keerthy’s side was her joining the cast of Thalaivar 168 starring superstar Rajinikanth in the lead directed by Siruthai Siva.

But, she had to take the decision of dropping out of yet another huge film – Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. The actress was roped in as the lead of the film. Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan is a historical drama starring Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Amitabh Bachchan among others. However, Keerthy decided to drop out of the film in order to not miss a chance to act with the superstar.

Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, Ponniyin Selvan has music composed by AR Rahman and cinematography will be done by Ravi Varman. The first schedule of the film has begun in the Philippines.

On the professional front, Keerthy is entering Bollywood through Boney Kapoor’s production in the Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan.
